For over 20 years Live Bait Theatre has been producing diverse programming to reach audiences of all ages. We believe in telling our own stories, which means creating and producing plays that are about the history of the Maritimes or the current situation of our citizens. Live Bait Theatre is a professional theatre company that has been incorporated as a registered non-profit charitable organization since 1988. As such, the company issues tax receipts for donations to the full extent allowable by law.

A huge factor in the vitality and strength of Live Bait is the kindness and generosity of our corporate and individual partners. We develop partnerships with sponsors with everyone's best interests at heart.

FYI...During the 2009 Live Bait Theatre Season:
   8000 people attended events at the theatre
    5000 programs were printed
    200 youth attended workshops
    9200 volunteer hours were given to the work of the company
    45 people were employed

There are many, many opportunities to volunteer at Live Bait Theatre and we invite you to join our bank of energetic, committed volunteers. If you have a special talent, skill, interest or a love of life theatre and have a little or a lot of time to give, we would welcome you.

Opportunities for Volunteering
Volunteers are needed in the following areas:

• front of house (taking tickets, stuffing programs, greeting patrons)
• bartending (waiting on patrons, pouring and serving drinks, stocking bar)
• administration (stuffing envelopes, selling tickets, updating databases)
• fundraising (developing proposals, approaching businesses and individuals)
• publicity (putting up posters, distributing promotional material)
• special events (planning and implementing fundraising events)
• production work (assist with props, costumes, lighting, set building, painting)

Our Wish List

Running a professional theatre company requires a large quantity of resources and supplies. Supporting the theatre can mean the donation of goods or services, so here is a list of some of the things, big and small, that we are in need of at Live Bait. Many of these must be purchased new, but some of them may be things that you have in your basement or garage and no longer need. If you're moving or cleaning out your house, please keep us in mind. We would be more than happy to take these items off your hands. Tax receipts are issued for the fair market value of anything donated to Live Bait.
