Start your summer off in style this year, at the second annual Summer Solstice celebration at Live Bait Theatre on June 21.
Featuring a three course meal prepared with local food, a silent auction, live music and dancing, the evening, which celebrates the first day of summer, promises to start the season off right.
This fund-raising event gives supporters a chance to see what the town’s only professional theatre company has in store for the upcoming season, while contributing to a local non-profit organization that has become an important part of the community at large.
“This is a unique event,” says Artistic Director Karen Valanne. “The organizing committee has been working hard to focus on keeping things local, from the food to the music to the décor.”
Live music will be provided by Anne Varner and Iris Fraser during dinner, followed by dancing music by local favourite Ernie Sear's and band. The decorating has been done by local artist Peter Manchester, and the gift baskets on auction contain items donated by local merchants and craftspeople.
Tickets are $50, with a $25 tax receipt, and are available at the box office located at 87 Main Street, Sackville. For more information, call 536-2248.
