Mélanie LeBlanc

Be it as an
actor, singer or dancer, Melanie Leblanc is an engaged artist,
passionate and devoted to art, to love, and to the greatness that
surrounds her. She is a graduate from the Randolph School for the Performing Arts
in Toronto and has received a bachelor of music from the Université de
Moncton. Since then, she has performed in numerous productions, such as Doubt a Parable (Theatre New Brunswick); A Christmas Carol (Theatre New Brunswick); LifeDream (Notable Acts Theatre Festival); Anne and Gilbert (Campbell Webster Entertainment); Pélagie (Two Planks and A Passion Theatre); The Gondoliers (Toronto Operetta Theatre); Dieppe Dieppe (Théâtre Capitol et l'Ambassade Canadienne-Paris, France), as well as in her own enterprises like her one woman show Women and War. She is currently working with Frayn McCarthy and Blair Thomson on the creation of a new Canadian musical The Virgin Courtesan
in which she holds the title role. After having spent three months
performing in Saigon, Vietnam, Melanie is delighted to be performing
again in her home province. She feels honoured and blessed to be
sharing A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline with you.
John Allen MacLean

Brad Reid
Since
completing the 4-year jazz program at St FX University in 2002, where
he studied the saxophone, Brad's interests and the demands for a
working musician
led him to study the other woodwinds (flute, clarinet, oboe), and more
importantly, the fiddle, guitar, and bagpipes association with his Cape
Breton roots.
In
the fall of 2002, he started working as a side musician in numerous house bands
aboard luxury cruise ships, and in 2008-2009 held a position as a
musical director with the Princess Cruise Line. Sailing the seas
primarily during the winter months, Brad returns home to Halifax for
the vibrant summer music scene.
Over
the past 8 years,
Brad has had the opportunity to perform with Joel Mason and his touring
Elton John tribute show, Johnny Thunder (formerly of the Drifters),
Eddie Holman (“Hey there Lonely Girl”), Australia’s Michael “Banjo”
Young, local country artists Rylee Madison and Ryan Cook, and various
other artists, events and venues around the Maritimes.
In
2008 Brad released his first traditional Cape Breton fiddle album, The
Conundrum, which subsequently
had two tracks placed in the Canadian film At Home By Myself...
With You, and is planning a
second release for 2011.
A Closer Walk With
Patsy Cline is Brad's second
Live Bait Theatre production, after last season's Hank
Williams: The Show He Never Gave.
