FROM THE MEDIA

This isn't your average theatre troupe. Live Bait dives head first into theatre. For the last two seasons they've been playing to sold out halls. Live Bait has won a place here...tourists stop for the Waterfowl Park and find a reason to stay for the evening.

Live Bait Theatre, one of only two English-speaking professional theatre groups in New Brunswick, has long been considered a "gem" in this community known for its arts and cultural richness...an outstanding and nationally recognized group that has the potential to attract thousands of visitors to its performances.

Coming of age is an important ritual. It signifies maturity and independence. It's a declaration that one is ready to fly on one's own. On Tuesday, July 6 in Sackville, a professional theatre company and an original Maritime play both came of age.

We have a treasure here in Sackville, a theatre that's interested in the lives we really live.

FROM OUR AUDIENCE

Their growing reputation has attracted some of the region's and the country's finest theatre artists to work with them. They know what they're doing and they do it well.
- Jenny Munday, Guysborough, NS

I confess to being a big fan of Live Bait Theatre...I was fortunate to have attended much of their last season. I was very impressed by the fact that they not only entertained, but opened windows to New Brunswick culture...

I love Live Bait (fun)draisers. Something happens in that converted fitness centre that
makes me happy to live in Sackville...through the magic of theatre and a common purpose,
we all fit in...that wonderfully edifying inclusiveness of difference. Saturday night, the
boundaries between town and gown, old and young, straight and gay, and
other false opposites...melted away. It seems to me a good way to live.

On Saturday December 3, we attended Live Bait Theatre's A Desperate Maritime Christmas. The talent of the group is outstanding...our town is so lucky to have such artists right here in our midst. We attended The Lion King in Toronto, Buddy Holly at Neptune in Halifax and several at the Ship's Company in Parrsboro and this group is second to none. Charlie, Karen and their wonderful cast deserve praise for such an entertaining evening.
